DESTINATIONS
WATERWAYS
Tennessee River | Tenn-Tom Waterway | Gulf Intracoastal Waterway
The Shoals
The Shoals region, comprised of four cities—Muscle Shoals, Florence, Sheffield, and Tuscumbia—in northwest Alabama, is a fascinating blend of history, music, and natural beauty located on the banks of the Tennesee River. It’s a can’t-miss stop in Alabama, regardless of whether you travel by land or water!
Tennessee River
The Tennessee River starts just beyond Knoxville, Tennessee, and winds through Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Kentucky, ending at the Ohio River. We wrote a cruising guide to boating the Tennessee River from Mile Marker 225 in Alabama/Mississippi to Knoxville. We shared daily vlogs during our journey.
Tenn-Tom Waterway
The Tenn-Tom Waterway is a 234-mile man-made waterway that connects the Tennessee River junction of the Black Warrior-Tombigbee River system. Constructed in the 20th Century by the Army Corp of Engineers, this waterway is an alternative route to the Mississippi River to the Gulf of Mexico. We shared daily vlogs as we cruised south on the Tenn-Tom.
Gulf Intracoastal Waterway
We boated the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway from Mobile, Alabama, to Florida and shared daily vlogs.
