Zion blew us away from our first impression and remains our favorite US National Park we’ve visited yet! It was the second most visited US National Park in 2024, boasting one of the most impressive landscapes in Southern Utah and the Colorado Plateau. Over millions of years, the Virgin River carved its dramatic, sandstone landscape. While The Narrows and Angel’s Landing are its most famous hikes, Zion offers a vast network of trails catering to all difficulties and lengths.

Best Time to Visit Zion
Although you can visit year-round, for us the best times to visit Zion National Park are spring and fall, when you’ll experience warm days and cool nights.
If you’re set on hiking the Narrows, keep in mind that sometimes the snowmelt can close The Narrows for about a month during Spring. We didn’t have trouble with this.
Summer is the busiest season, with temperatures often exceeding 100°F, while Winter brings the fewest crowds, allows private vehicle access on the main road, and may include snow and ice.
