Zion was the second most visited National Park in 2024 and has one of the most impressive landscapes in southern Utah and the Colorado Plateau. The dramatic, sandstone-carved landscape was carved by the Virgin River over millions of years. The park’s most notable hikes are The Narrows and Angle’s Landing, however, there are several trails to choose from ranging in experience and distance.
Zion National Park blew us away from our first impression of the park and remains our favorite US National Park we’ve visited yet!

Best Time to Visit Zion
You can visit Zion year-round.
In our opinion, the best season to visit Zion National Park is spring and fall, when the temperatures are warm during the day and cool at night. During the spring, The Narrow’s hike may be unavailable due to the strong flow rates from the snow melting for about one month.
Summer is the most popular time to visit Zion, and high daytime temperatures can reach over 90°F to 100°F.
Zion has the least crowds during the winter, so you’ll see fewer people on the trails. You can drive through the park in your own vehicle since the Zion shuttle does not operate in the winter. Zion is likely to have snow and ice in winter.
