Tips for saving diesel on an old trawler
We’ve had many comments on how rising diesel prices would affect our Loop and thought we’d share some fuel saving tips! Our old Trawler engine sips Diesel, but that doesn’t mean it always does. In this video we go over the following: 1. Finding your most fuel efficient RPM 2. Tips for running your Generator Less like adding Solar, Alternator Charging, and considering a Marina. 3. How to find good diesel rates.
The ups, downs, and everything in between, we share it all. If you like what you see, there are lots of ways to show your support and say thanks! The easiest way to support our work is by commenting on this post, liking and sharing our content on Facebook, and pinning our content on Pinterest. Itโs a small way to say thank you that goes a long way!

My wife and I have enjoyed watching all of your videos. My friend has an Albin 33, which was built at the same yard as your boat. They appear to have copied this design (and engine) from boat to boat. I have spent a great deal of time working on his boat preparing it for the loop. So, one question came to mind after watching your engine maintenance episode. Did you change the oil in the injector manifold? Let me know if you have any questions in regards to this. PS. If you like seafood, stop at The Shanty in Cape Charles, VA on your way north.
Hey there Dennis! It really is cool to see all the very slight differences in the Taiwanese fleet from the time. With our engine model, Lehman engineered the injector pumps into the main oil system so there is no longer a separate oil change needed. I believe that was used on the 120 and this is the Super 135. Cheers!
