Beaufort, South Carolina is worthy of the title of Southβs Best Small Town. It has this unique combination of a restored waterfront and neighborhoods that have stood the test of time.
Beaufort is unique as much of its historic buildings remain unchanged. During the American Civil War, Beaufort was one of the first towns surrendered to the Union and thus much of the existing architecture remained.
As we have been traveling by boat, one aspect of visiting new places has been lacking – and that is trying the local cuisine! Today however we check out Lowcountry Produce Market and Cafe and have a fantastic lunch, including homemade fresh doughnutsβ¦
